I cut the hose off at the back of the hubs and left about an inch so I could stick a drywall screw in it. Then pulled the remaining hose off the nipple by the shock and capped with a vacuum plug.
Here's a pic of the vacuum plug at the shock. I don't have a pic of the screws.

Nothing, but if you develop a vacuum leak inside the hubs around the yellow O-ring (part of the OEM autolock mechanism), your HVAC system will default to defrost only.
