10pm and 2am huh? Not a lot of people on at those times. I would wait until about 5pm to bump it to the top.

not yet

I haven't done it yet, but am in the same situation. My plan is to run the drivers side over to the pass side, to the rear and exit both pipes on the pass side. I am running 351W and Nv4500 with a Bw4401 Tcase and just don't have the room on the drivers side. It is hard to see here, but once i Installed the midship tank it convinced me. I put the heat shield back in and will position the mufflers vertically under the heat shield. If I recall, my mufflers are bottom in, center out. I have 8-9 inch resonators for the tips.

i have pretty much the same setup as sailfast. have duals that dump down right under the bed. but i have 2 cherry bomb extreme mufflers. sounds amazing but im thinking i should have just ran duals in front of each rear tire.

another look

I went to the shop and looked, Mine may have to run to the tcase member and then cross over. I have the hydraulic clutch setup on mine with shorty headers and no good way to get across until I clear the front drive shaft. Sounds like you may have a similar problem.

Thanks for the added input, as always i enjoy more input from anyone, so if you have something to add, or pictures to show, then don't be afraid to post them,

my truck's details and picture is in my signature, so your running a 351w in a 4x4, i haven't seen that on these trucks yet, as i know the 351w was not available on these '73-'79 trucks, and neither was a 302w in a 4x4 for this generation,

also Doug do i see rear Disc brakes?, i am assuming your truck is a F-100/F-150?, so your running a 9" right? if so i would love some details on how your doing rear disc brakes, i hear the full-size Lincoln's and Ford LTD's from the mid to late 70s have rear discs on there 9", so i am assuming they share the same lug pattern size as our trucks? so is that where you got your setup? or is it a aftermarket kit? also are you running a F-350 brake booster for the brakes?

my Ford 9" is 3.50 and its a open diff, and its the 31 spline,

Mine is actually a F250, but the same principal. I replaced the 351M/400-C6 with a 1997 351W/GM-Nv4500/bw4401. I originally wanted to use the 4R100 from the 97, but the tcase didn't fit between the narrower frame rails of the 79 Frame. The rear is a Dana 60 that I did the rear disc on. I am doing lots of more modern stuff on this truck. GM TBI, GM 35 gal rear fuel tank with TBI fuel pump in tank and the like.

Here it is sitting in the frame.

My 79 that I just aquired has duels, the drivers side comes over the trans, then it crosses back over after the t-case crossmember, they exit out the rear (short box stepside) by the lights. I found some paperwork under the seat that said "heart throb exhaust".
On a 78 shorty fleetside, I had duels custom bent and they went right over the t-case crossmember on the drivers side, they exited out in front of the rear tires, it's been a while but as I remember there was plenty of room. Probably 2 1/2" pipes?
