Short Bed
Hi,
Where is a good place to get a pretty decent bed for my 79? I need a short bed. My current bed is rusted and would need to have the floor replaced. There is also a big hole on the side where the previous owner patched it up with a fiberglass patch.
I pulled up a price list from Pull-A-Part and found that I can get a bed for like $150 or so, provided that it is in better shape than the one I already have.

Where are you located? Your location usually depends on how hard a short bed is to find. Sometimes they can really hard to find, sometimes not. Like down here in GA, they are somewhat hard to find, I've seen some parts trucks for cheap with a good bed. Down here you could but a parts truck for a reasonable price and get the bed off of it. Put a wanted add in the parts section of your local section of craigslist... if one is to be had, thats ussually a good place to start. I'd almost kill to be able to get a decent bed, short or long for $150... if its close, I'd say go for it. But, Like he said, its a location thing... You Never see short beds here, so my quest for one is going rather rough.
