Can't put it into gear

I have an 84 F-150 w/ 351H.O. w/ C-6 auto. We had a bad snow storm about 2 months ago that dump about 8" to 10" of snow w/ 16" to 18" drift. The truck got stuck in one of the drifts. Well finally got the truck out and parked it in front of the garage. The next day I was going to move it over to the other side but the column shifter would not shift gear. I have checked the linkage going to the tranny and everything looks good. Can anyone give me any help? I think that it is in the column, itself.

You are saying you checked the linkage and everything looks good. Are you meaning that the linkage is shifting fine, down on the transmission itself? And you have physically removed the linkage from the trans and turned the shift hookup itself, to feel it detent through the ranges?

Did your "stuck" involve a lot of wheel spinning?
