The manufacturer is Rosen. I had them installed by a company in SLC called Car Concepts (not sure if they are national or not). Great place, great service. The cost was approximately $1600. Steep, but well worth it when you have 3 kids on a long road trip. It was also the same as the dealer quoted me.

Has anyone considered going to the overhead model like the Alpine PKG-RSE2 or something similar? Possible pros or cons beside not being able to see through the rear view mirror?

Clean install! I'll have to check 'em out. There's a couple of local car places that I'll have to check out. Or maybe I'll get a set and have the dealer wire them up. I have 4 kids so we're in the same boat on those long trips.

I thought about it briefly, but for me I have 4 kids ranging in age from 4 to 15. The dual headrest system gave me the best options for the kids being able to have 2 movies going and not having a 15 year old watching Scooby Doo or a 4 year old watching the Book of Eli (as an example from our last trip..haha). The kid in the middle seat gets to pick which she wants to watch with a flip of a switch on her headphones. And the pre-loaded games on the system I bought, while not top quality xbox or pstation games, are priceless entertainment for them all.

I'm also waiting for the program to enable the front DVD while driving so the unlucky child in the front middle seat gets a movie too.

Did you order a lockpick? If not, check it out, unlocks everything on the head unit. I'm going to make sure I have one in my possession before the truck even gets here. It'll be the first thing I install (myself) into the truck.

So this lockpick device allows you to watch DVD movies through the factory navigation screen while driving? And all you have to do for install is plug it in the back? That sounds extrememly dangerous and awesome at the same time.

Yep, thats how it works. Although there have been some reports of VHR (Vehicle Health Report) not working after install.

I have 4 kids from 1 to 6. Rosen makes a drop down with the same games as your head rest system (had it in my Land Rover) except 1 controller for 4 kids sounds bad. I think that will be the way I go. And maybe get the lockpik.
