I purchased a Rally single barrel carb to replace the old feedback carb when I pulled off the ignition system and replaced it with the duraspark II setup. I got the Rally because it came "pre-tuned" for the for the truck. I also unplugged the computer and got rid of all the wires coming through the firewall along with all the smog crap. Stupid simple.
The Rally carb has two vacuum ports on the right side, one at the bottom where it bolts to the intake and one close to the top that I've capped off.
In the effort to try the get the truck to run smoothly and not so rich, I've often wondered if I need to change what vacuum line goes where. Currently I only have one vacuum line running from the bottom port directly to the vacuum advance on the distributor. Should I have something from the other port on the carb running somewhere?
