Alright, I'm changing the plugs/wires in the 00 mountaineer 5.0. Driver's side went fine. On the passenger side, the #4 plug wire runs along the top of the valve cover. There is a loom about 1/2 way along the valve cover.
How does one go about getting to that thing? Now I know why I like working on my gen9 f150.
Ran into the same issue on my 01 EB. I just ran the new wire in a path that kept it away from anything hot and used a few zip ties to hold it in place. As for the old wire I just pulled it loose. May not look the best but has worked fine for the last 42k.
well. After pulling the air intake tube. I ended up using side dikes to clip off the "hinge side of the loom that was facing towards me. This allowed me to get the top out of the way and pull the old wire out and put the new wire in.
This was such a pain, I spend more than 5 min on one of the looms at the back of the valve cover! At least the wire still follows the factory path.
