Hello fellow 96 owners,
Can you all look and see if you have air injection tubes on your catalytic convertor/y pipe. I just got my new bassani y pipe(351w), and there isnt one. I have been told that all cats need these. Id go and check mine, but i just got two fresh feet of snow and I dont have a garage (so checking mine is gonna be a few weeks off). The bassani tech said that if it doesnt have one, it probably doesnt need one. He said that by model year 96 (and OBD-II), they had figured out how to catalyze exhause without air injection. I dont know much about them. All help would be appreciated.
I'm probably the one who said all cats need air, but after thinking about it again, I realized that mine doesn't have an air pump, so I doubt it has air injection to the Y-pipe.
So I'm good then? Thats what I like to hear. I just ordered the accompanying Bassani HTC headers . Anybody else have these, or just regualr bassani headers? You like them? I like their gasketless design (whether it will hold up for me, only time will tell).
