Rear brackets - mudguards

Just got my mudflaps in from Airhawk (similar to Duraflap) - the rear mounting brackets require driving a galvanized screw into the pinch weld of the box.

At first I was like "that doesn't seem like a good idea. Won't it accelerate corrosion?". But then my brain kicked into gear and it would seem the galvanic coating on the screw becomes the sacrificial metal in this arrangement and it should be fine. Also the pich weld (and underside of the box for that matter) are going to take far more abuse from rocks kicking up etc. which would more likely result in exposed metal subject to the elements.

Am I thinking right on this?

I threw my metal brackets away and just screwed directly to the fender well and took out the plastic plugs.

Cool - would you mind throwing some pics up on your gallery if you have a chance?

Yea no problem I'll do it this weekend but - just eliminate the brackets - they are not necessary - just screw them in - per the instructions and eliminate the bracket steps - they don't do didly for support - i accidental bent them taking em out of the package - they are too flimsy to be of use and are not needed.
