I have a couple questions about a truck I found. The guy states it's a 1967 Ford Ranger. Would this be the same as the F100? He also says it has a 351w, but from my research, that engine was not available in the trucks in that year. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
What engine and tranny was available in this truck?
I think the Ranger can be an f-100 or an f-250.....mine is an F-250...and 4x4....
"Ranger" pretty much dealt with the badges and some of the grillwork....one thing about the 1967's though....they were a "one year only" truck...meaning many things body and interior wise happened only on that truck....
The original V8 offered was the 352....but many have been retrofitted with other options....mine has a 390.
Numberdummy will have to fill you in on which trannys were an option...mine was retrofitted with an np435/np205 package from a 77-era truck..

Seller is prolly clueless...has mistaken the 352 that was the only V8 available in 1967 with the 351W .. which was not available until 1981 in F150/350's & Bronco's.
The engine code is the 4th digit of the VIN.
1967 F100/350: A = 240 1V I-6 / B = 300 1V I-6 / Y = 352 2V.
FE engines (352/360/390and etc) have 5 valve cover bolt holes per side, 351W's (& 221/260/289/302's) have 6.
Available transmissions:
M/T: 3 speed manual, 3 speed with overdrive (F100 only), New Process 435 & Warner T-18 4 speeds.
The reason I asked is becuase I was interested in the drive train from it for my 48. I know the rear will work, but I am looking for a 351, so the engine from this truck won't work for me.
