hello all I'm starting on a new project...1970 or 71 f350 cutom flat bed dual... the radiator is missing... what years will fit... would a radiator from a 1985 f150 351 work... where can I go to find vin refrences to figure out what all is in this... thanks michael mcbride
I doubt the 85 radiator would fit without modification. I would go with one from a 67-72 F Series with an FE or 385 series "Big Block", 360, 390, 429 and 460 most common and should have enough radiator to keep things cool.
the 73-79 may also bolt up, but I can't confirm that.
oops, should've posted these the first time
heres what I've found... f350 custom m66803, f37xkm66803, chassis - cab 135mf374238a27 , also 10000 ,151 , 4000 , 52
thanks in advance mike
Here we go, from what I could figure out from memory and my info:
F37- 1 ton series
X- this is the engine code position; are you sure that isn't a 'Y'?
(360 engine)
K- Kansas City assembly
M66803- sequential unit number. Indicates assembly in early fall
(possibly Oct- date codes on your windows, seat back,
engine block etc will narrow it down) of 71 (72 model)
135- wheel base
M- paint code ( wimbledon white)
F374- chassis (I think)
28- cab style (I think)
A- transmission (4 spd New Process)
27- rear axle (Dana 70, 4.10:1)
10000- Gross vehicle weight in lbs
151- HP @
4000 rpm
52- DSO (sales district code) Des Moines
If I'm wrong on any of these, feel free anyone to give corrections...
