I made a post a couples days ago about replacing the wheel bearings on my 79 Bronco. Well today I replaced the front wheel bearings, wheel seals, spindle bearings and seals.
While taking everything apart on the passenger side the axle slid out some( I thought to myself that axle seal is gonna leak now). Got it all back together and parked it in its normal spot, slightly on a hill. Got out and looked down, gear oil was pouring out. Never leaked a drop before.
Its been a couple years since I have replaced axle seals on a Dana 44. What do I need to watch for? All I can think of is make sure I remember to lay out the shims and such in the order in which they go so back lash, preload and such will still be right. Then torque the caps and so on. Thanks.
I wouldn't worry about it just yet, wait a while and see if it stops. Quite a bit of oil may have leaked into the housing tube. One other thing, make sure the axles vent tube isn't plugged up.
I need to do this on my D-44 front end. The drivers side leaks. Let me know how it goes and if you can take pictures and post 'em while you're doing it, that'd be great.

Will do but for now I guess I will wait it out a little while like Mark a said and see what happens.
