I put the reflexes on mine about 6 mos. ago & they are pretty stiff. think if I did it again I would have went oem or maybe the gas magnums. I'll live with them but they do ride pretty darn rough, maybe I'm just getting old but if I wanted it to ride like a 4x4 I would have bought a 4x4.
Thanks for that info! At the last minute I changed my mind and ordered the gas magnums as they were 31 each, and I hate spending money I don't have to.
I reviewed the specs between the gas magnums and the reflex and the only difference seemed to be one extra valve to 'sense acceleration'.
If you would please let me know how you think they ride after awhile. I really hoped the reflexes would ride a little better with some miles on them but after pulling gn 3 horse trailer to Colo & back, about 3500 miles 9-10k lbs, they are still pretty darn stiff.
I bought monroe gas shocks in may, They suck! I have a crew cab 4x4 lb and they don't work as good as shock in front. If you have 2 wheel drive you mit be alright listening to these guys. I sold and pushed monroe in the old days but they are not for the cc 4x4 psd trucks. Maybe the reflex mit be better. I am going to try and take them back to o'reileys maybe the will exchange them, Good luck Chet
So go with a set of 4 balsteins huh? I've been wanting to do this. I dont know when my shocks were replaced last. probably never have been 160k on the truck. So the difference is noticable? I have a little more body lean on the corners than i would like. So will it help this as well? I have the E99. What do you guys think?
Forgot to add I put Monroes on my wifes Expy about 3 months ago, defintly smoothed things out with better handling. The stock shocks were beat at 111,000. I was told shocks will even help out with certain bad wearing tire problems. Glad you good to go. Bryce, Bilstiens are sweet, the cadilac of shocks of sorts but Monroes or equivlant are just as good.
I put Bilstiens on the front at 90K. They are now dead at 256k, but just started getting bad bad in the past couple of weeks. I think they were worth the $110 apiece I paid for them back then, but I can't afford the luxury now, so I'll be shopping also. But Bilsteins are supposed to have a lifetime warranty, I just have no proof of purchase. So I guess I'll do the $53 apiece set with a new warranty, and replace them for free down the road

Ok thanks Mike. Ya, the O'Reillys here had Monroe shocks in stock and could overnight the rancho's. They were the same price. about $53 a pop. I like to have the cadillac version of things but they all have lifetime warranty's so why bother. So when I do get new ones, should I get Monroe or Rancho. Anyone think that one is better than the other or have a preference ? And If I started by doing the fronts only I'm sure that would help the ride the most correct? As far as firming the ride up and cornering goes..
EDIT: I have a leveling kit right now and plan on doing a fron and rear Add-A-Leaf. Should I wait to get new shocks until I do this? Would my truck be considered lifted then and need bigger shocks?
will these shocks fit our trucks? Not a bad price and I'm sure I can talk him down. I dont know that much about shocks but I konw that Belsteins are good. Let me know, I already sent him a message saying I'm interested if they fit. Thanks
