need help with an oldy
I am a newbie and i have a few questions. i have a 79 bronco with a 6.6L 400.
First, it has an edelbrock intake and and 1406 edelbrock carb. when it cranks up it idles ok. seems a little rough but not bad at all. but as soon as i put it in gear and there is a load on it, it seems like its going to die out. but it doesnt. just really low, kinda loaping. is this normal??? the guy i bought it from said something about the step up springs in the carb?????????
Second, Im new to working on the internals of a engine. so bear with me please. how can i tighten the valves. seems like a ticking when i crank it and when giving it gas. is it as easy as taking off the valve covers and using a torque wrench? is there a certain order and what is the torque it needs.
need all the help i can get. i love this beast and i cant wait to have her purring. thanks for the help
