Hi All....
1989 E150 Club Wagon, 5.0, Auto, 61,000miles. Each time I go out to start up, the engine will not idle unless I feather the accelerator. After a couple of minutes it seems to "warm-up", and idle fine for the rest of the ride. I would understand this if I were up North in the winter, but this is Florida, 80 degrees......anybody know whut's up?
Yes, the Fuel Filter was changed about a month ago......as was the Rear Tank, and both in-tank fuel pumps, and the Injectors were cleaned.......for reasons not related to this problem. The engine starts easy, and runs fine......it just has to have that little couple of minutes warm-up before it will idle.
According to the 1989 Econoline " Electrical & vacuum trouble shooting manual " (I found it on ebay ) there is a " idle speed control " unit in there somewhere maybe they have one at the parts store so you could see what it looks like. It's connected to the ECA if that helps.

LOL.........good point Shorty, I actually just bought one of those EVTM manuals myself off of ebay and "threw it in the pile".......guess I'll have to dig it out and start troubleshooting............I'll keep you posted as to what I find out.
