I just bought shocks front and back for my 99 F350. The bottom bolts on the front shocks are both rusted. The driver side is so bad I doubt it is reusable. So I have been looking for a replacement bolt but I am not sure where or what I need.
I found a universal "Shock Bolt kit" online but I want to make sure this is heavy duty enough.
You would need to contact both above directly to order the nuts as they are not listed on their sites, but the bolt is...
Honestly though, you could have any local Ford dealer order (if they do not have them in stock) you the 2 bolts and 2 nuts for about $20. That may be your fastest and cheapest route...

Since the lower sock mount is through bolted your cheapest bet would be to get a properly sized grade 8 bolts and nuts at your local hardware store. Under $5 for the bolts and nuts. Could use grade 5 bolts but I would use grade 8. Measure the hole size and get a bolt long enough and a locknut. The hardware should be metric however the bolt looks around 1/2" or 12mm so measure. I wouldn't pay what the dealer wants for 2 lousy bolts.
Yeah,
Just go to your local home depot or ACE hardware with the broken bolt and size it up.
Again look for the higher grade 8 they should have them. You can also get the heavier grade hardware at a heavy equip. repair outlet as well.

Its metric and it is spec'd at a class 10.9... The bolt is a M12 x 1.75 x 80...

Well now the OP knows the size to get. Mostly dealing with standard hardware I get into the habit of using standard grade designations. Your correct grade 10.9 in metric which is equivelent to a standard grade 8.

Yup, gotta becareful with that stuff. People who do not have the knowledge of grade markings can make a big mistake in a real hurry. I have seen all to many times where people are trying to buy "grade 8" hardware and buy metric class 8.8 thinking it is the same thing.
