progress

Got the donor motor home on friday and stripped down to the block by friday night. Truck is ready to go to the soda blaster. And as soon as i get the break booster set up i can weld the bracket on the frame, need to mock-up the motor for the motor mounts and then its off to the powder coated. I made more progress in 2 weeks than I have made in 2 years, I just might get to drive this thing some day.

Have you had anything soda blasted before?

No I haven't used the soda blasting before but going to try it this time.

There have been some real problems painting sheet metal that was soda blasted -- do a websearch on it. Some paint shops won't touch a car that has been soda-blasted.

The soda blasted surface needs to be neutralized before paint. Holdtight102 is one.

More progress. Picked up my edelbrock aluminum fe heads on saturday. A few more parts to gather and then the 390 tripower build begins. Should have my brake booster set by friday and can finish the brake lines and fuel lines this weekend. Then mock the motor for motor mounts but i have to buy the trans first. Its going in the right direction.......so im happy.
