You can try it but I think you'll find it a bit more difficult because of the way a 3 point belt works and the size of the retractor.
If you use a lap belt it should be that straight forward.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the description of the location, mine does not have the mounts. There are 2 things bolted to the floor and 2 oval stampings but no rubber plugs or holes with nuts behind them.

1956/59, only black was available: B6AZ7021200A.
Correct as far as Ford cars and trucks, but not for the rest of the Ford Family of Fine Cars.

1957 Lincoln appears to have offered seat belts in four colors (kit numbers BAJ-5861246-AA thru -AD), while 1958's seem to have had only two colors (although they might have been new color additions to the 1957 series, kit numbers BAK-5761246-AA and -AB). These numbers come from the July 1, 1958 MEL Master Price and Reference List, form MD-4230-GPD. All six of the seat belt kits were listed as still available as of the release date, and all were priced at $8.55 retail. The equivalent black-only 1958 Edsel seat belts (B8E 18620-A, engr. # BAM-5761246AB) was offered for only $7.60 retail. Mercury undoubtedly had similar offerings, but I haven't turned over the part number suffixes for any color variations yet.

The 1959 Edsel accessories brochure offered seat belts in four colors, but I don't have the numbers for those, either. I'm sure 1959 Lincoln had the equivalent offerings, if not more, and it would be reasonable (actually expected) to find Mercury did too.

These MEL seat belts were quick release, not the metal-to-webbing contact, aircraft-style, pull-through belts used on 1956-63 Fords and the earlier Lincoln, Mercury, and Continental. We can find the Ford belts pictured in the 1961 and 1962 Lincoln Continental Accessories brochures, so supplies of the quick-release MEL belts must have been depleted before then. But a new run with a slightly modified design was produced for the 1963 and 1964 L-M models. I don't have access to the color availabilities there either.

This is where I went for the 3-point belts I put in my daughters 64 and her sister's 66 . HTTP://www.wescoperformance.com /3point-se They have a wide selection of colors and so far have been flawless in operation. For your truck don't get the hard covered "male " ends ( not in the plastic sleeve) as they will be too short to come from the floor, between the seat and have enough left over to buckle into. Instead get the male ends that come with about 15" of nylon strap and they'll work just fine.
PS. good to hear of another 4x being resurected !!

I forgot to add that they have a very simple attachment point piece for the 3rd point. Their instructions are good and easy to follow, offer some flexability and it went in the area covered by the headliner piece that goes between the door and back window. Like I said I'm more than happy with the belts I've put in my girls trucks.

63’ f100, I need to do same to my ’63 F100 2wd. If you can share some pics of how you worked it out, I’d be very greatful. I’m especially interested in how you mounted the shoulder harness as well as the left hand floor connection. Congrats on your 4x4! Hope you are loving it.

Will, check the dates of the threads you’re replying to, then, in their profiles, the last date the member has logged on. Guys post on sometimes decades-old threads, as if only the continuation of a conversation started right before supper.

I just put my search into google like this, seatbelts 1964 site:ford-trucks.com Works well for me, you can try different years if it's a more general question.

I would love to see pictures from anyone who uses a retractor with a stock seat. My 64 with an original seat does not have enough room to mount a retractor to the floor. I installed the 3rd point brackets last year and am getting ready to buy belts now. I was going to get them from seatbeltplanet.com and get manually adjustable harnesses. If there's a way I can get retractors that will fit from somewhere else I'd be interested to know about it.

I'll try to remember to take some pics. Mine already had lap belts in it when I got it but I don't think they were factory. I'm going to look and see if it has those plugs that might be hiding factory holes.

I have the factory mounts in the floor but I’m interested to see how everyone is connecting the shoulder harness to the cab.

My Complete Seat Belt Installation for my 1964 F-100 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

I came across this old thread showing a 3-point belt install. I don't think there's enough room on the floor for the retractor to mount so I was going to get manual adjustment belts. This guy mounted the retractor to the upper panel though. Has anyone else seen this/done this? It seems obvious but I don't think I would have thought of it on my own. I can't think of a downside except for maybe hitting your head on the retractor because it sticks out farther.
