Im starting to think about what kind of traction setup I want to do for my 66. 4 link is obviously superior but id like to see some pics of what you guys are running if its trac bars, laser bars, anything really. please dont post retarded pics like 10" blocks with bolt on lakewood traction bars, lets try to keep it professional here lol.
i've had two trucks with the l and l bars. both still had the factory blocks, and both had big blocks. guess what else they both had????........ a metric **** ton of axle wrap. i'm not saying that l and l makes bad bars, i'm just saying straight up springs would probably make a whole nother world of difference over having the factory block between the setup. leverage is leverage. a "full" spring with a good square perch and a simple traction bar setup would probably do a lot more than most imagine.
Im kinda leaning twards a 2 link setup for now and later down the road I can add the other links to the top of the diff and ditch the springs to run coilovers when I have the money. Im also not sure if I want to run the coilovers over the axles or up near the cab with a prerunner setup.
All you need is one simple huge traction bar(or whaat ever the **** you want to call it) bolted solid to the axle, and a shackle at the frame end. Leaf springs flex plenty well for most all off road rigs(unless u go full buggy). My tracton bar is strong enough to hold the rear tires off the ground and fallows the Drive shaft goood enough to keep that from bending.
