NP205 (divorced) linkage question
I have a 73 F250 hiboy 4x4 with divorced NP205. I have a prominent rattle when driving in third gear. Gently placing pressure with my hand on the trans 4spd shifter does nothing to alleviate the rattle. However, when I do the same on the transfer case shift lever, it dampens it, almost makes it go away, so I think this is the source. Getting under the truck, I see the linkage of shifter in cab to transfer case amounts to a large fixed pivot bolt (my terminology, please forgive) with a swing arm held by cotter pin. The big bolt has what looks like two rubber washers/bushings, one on each side of swing arm- both are completely disintegrating. I can wiggle swing arm side to side. I would love to replace these, but nobody anywhere knows what I am talking about. Anyone had this problem, and what can I use to replace the washers if there is no replacement part? Thanks in advance...

I`m gonna try and describe what you are talking about, correct me if I am wrong. Do you mean the sleeve (bushing) that goes over the bolt which goes into the shifter stick for the t-case? If so I`d check LMC, Dennis Carpenter, Bronco Graveyard, there is a couple more I cant think of right now. If none of these places sell the bushings you could probably get them at A&G or somewhere else. i cant imagine they are anything that special. Good luck with it.
