i have a 1977 ford f-250 4wd with a 460 to a c6 to a married np205 and want to swap to a divorced np205. does anyone know if it will just swap or if i need to change to a different c6 made especially for a divorced transfer case or maybe any other special parts that were different. thanks
you will need a c6 for a divorced transfer case. it will have a bolt on yoke like you transfer case mount. a 2wd trans might also work if you are going to make your own driveshaft to connect to the tcase. a 2wd uses a slip yoke out put.
if ur rebuilding yours anyway you can swap the tailshaft and tailhousing to your trans and use it. either from a donor trans or (I was told) bronco graveyard has a conversion kit. (I haven't looked. and idk if it was for married or divorced from 2wd. wouldn't hurt to look tho)
It's possible it got changed. What are advantages and disadvantages?
i wouldnt swap one out for the other but thats just me. if its a HB youll have a cross member right behind the front bumper.
also if you have a maried case how, there should be a very large, wide cross member where the divorced case would have been mounted hight under the rear of the cab
Gives it a more old school look and it just looks cool in my opinion.
REALLY.....please for your own safety do not let this thread get in the Off Road and 4x4 section, they will flame you to death for that reason.
If you have a transfer case that is actually bolted to the back of your transmission and only have 2 DS, then you probably have a 77.5 low boy and not a highboy.

Now that I have a few opinions and have looked into it I will leave it alone. My goal is to have a truck like the original bigfoot
