LOL. I'm wondering if the newest flash has removed the sound. Can anyone confirm that the sound is now gone after the new flash? I'm going to go in this week and get it done and see what happens.
So when I pick up my new truck this week -- what do you think my first thing I am going to be doing after they give me the keys?
Ok, this will be funny. The first thing you need to do is crawl under the truck, push the lock button and ask the sales guy "What is this noise!?" as if it's the first thing you notice.
(Assuming the new trucks have this sound.)

I'll let you know Tuesday evening. Scheduled for 15:30 that day.
Had the two latest TSB flashes installed; one was for the PCM and another for the TCM.
The beep/tone noise still exists during lock.
Well, okay then...
It's clearly something Ford added in the intial flash and decided not to address or remove in the second flash. It leads one to believe it's a good thing. Perhaps the variation in the volume of the noise between trucks is just one of those stacked tolerances we hear so much about. Some solenoids (or whatever it is) make noise, others don't. I think I'm just going to watch this as I get close to the warranty expiration date.
It still would be nice to know exactly what component(s) is making this noise and why.
Just for the simple fact I want to know what's going on in there.
While this may be a new noise for these trucks..that very same noise has been around a while in other ford vehicles...the navigators used to do it and still do.

Interesting.

Okay, pickup time set for 17:30 eastern. Should be able to report back in the evening...
