help! horn and seed control

I recently bought a used 2000 F-350 5 speed. I am having small problems here and there that need fixing. Rite now i am stuck on the horn and speed controls not working. was wondering if anyone had any information or experience that could help me diagnose.

The one thing in common with these two functions is something called the clock-spring. It's a spiral-wound, flat ribbon cable that's part of the steering column assembly, and is replaceable.

However, this could be something as simple as it being unplugged inside the steering column.

You're going to have to dig down into the column to find out. Just beware, there's an air bag there that needs to be disarmed first.

this is on my list too. can't pass a Federal safety inspection without a working horn. I kinda don't care if the horn works. In this vehicle, if something gets in the way I know what will win. And if it's something bigger than this truck, it's probably too slow to move outta the way when I hit the horn.

anyway, all kidding aside about saving some poor pedestrian, I know it's a part inside the column. but haven't been fired up to figure out the airbag angle. never had a vehicle with an airbag before.

Does the truck start with out the clutch depressed? Because if it does the clutch position switch is broken and the cruise control wont come on thinking its clutch is depressed when my cruise control didn't work that was my problem

Don't forget to check fuses.

If you have to change the clock spring, it's not too hard. Just remember to handle the air bag so that if it decides to go boom, it's not in your face.

My horn stuck on at one point so I pulled the relay. Not sure which one but it also killed my cruise control. Which sucks.
