Well, my new-to-me '88 7.3L needs plenty of attention to the fuel system. The side tank is leaking pretty bad, and the injectors literally have a steady stream of fuel leaking out while running.
Now, are all the tanks interchangeable (as in diesel vs. gas)? So if I get a new gas/fuel tank for any F250/350 it should work, right? Fuel pump mount and sending unit mount the same for gas & diesel?
Secondly, what is everyone using for injector O-ring kits? Should I just replace all the injectors?
On the tanks, just order those for diesel trucks - they are physically the same as the gasser ones, but I'm not sure if the clocking is the same for the fuel pickup assemblies - and they should be the same price anyways, so might as well do it right the first time.
Injector return line kits - those can be had from about anywhere, the problem is they come with rubber o-rings which are more likely to spring a leak if the injector cap is disturbed somehow later on. There are upgrade o-rings available, they're made of viton and they hold up to diesel fuel much better - you can get those from an industrial supplier like McMaster-Carr. Or, one of the members on here sells return line kits with the viton o-rings included, and his pricing is very reasonable, so you can go this way as well.
