With Fords there is no way to tell.
There is no such things as a "numbers matching" truck when you're talking Fords.
For instance the Ford D2TE-AA heads. That will tell you they are the standard Ford FE (360/390) head with hardened valve seats, but it won't tell you which engine, what year, or model it was originally on when it left the factory.
where on the block, heads, and intake should i look for the numbers? the vin comes back as a 360 but the guy i bought it from says its a 390 ( most 360's become 390's when their forsale) it also has a 4bbl which i aso recognize as not being origonal if its a 360 when you factor all that in with the edition of the carm is missing the spec tag its near imposible to find rebuild kits for the carb, i intend on starting a thread for the carb and posting some pictures for you guys maybe someone can tell me what it is so i can refurbish it!
