have 6.0 lot of problems, working on trade now, got info on ford and GMC duramax -- leaning to GMC with all the problems with 6.0 MPG is one consideration to evaluate along with maintinance costs of each. Ford appears expensive
When my '08 was totalled I drove every truck on the market capable of towing 11,000 lbs.
I really liked the way the Silverado HDs drove, but I didn't like a few things about them. Have you looked under the front end of one? The front "axle" is only rated for a GAWR of 4,800 lbs up to 2011. The new 2011 GM HD pickups are rated for 6,000 lbs, but you won't find one of those cheaper than you will a Super Duty.
The 6.7L is an all-new engine that has had a nearly flawless rollout so far. Problems seem to be few and far between, Ford may have hit a home run with this engine!
I have been down that 6.0 road. I went with the 2011 Ford 6.7 and have not looked back. The truck does everything I have asked of it. Great power, smooth transmission, nice ride for a truck with a 11500gvw and excellent fuel mileage. I have 9800 miles on mine, 3500 of them towing a 13000# fifth wheel. I did have "Z" plan privileges that made it easier to stay with the Ford. So far, no unhappy owners anywhere I hang out. The Ford bashers on the RVnet site have even had to admit that the new truck is a home run. They are holding out on the grand slam for now.
Anyone know the motor mounts on the 6.7L yet? Dad is willing to put the cash out to get rid of our 6.0L. We want to stay with ford though. Were sick of new turbos in Cummins. And the 7.3 is to much work appernty.

Well, Getting a '11 Ford will be just as much of a new and different truck as if you went with GMC or Dodge. The '11 truck is completely different than your 6.0 truck and "punishing" Ford by going GMC is not really going to have any effect on anyone but yourself.
Ford is a profitable manufacturer producing good product AND is not operating as a burden on the U. S. economy.
The '11 truck is better than the GMC or Dodge product IF you actually need a hard working truck. I assume you do.
Let me just say this….I have owned nothing but Chevy trucks my entire life…..yesterday I drove a 2011 Ford 350 Superduty. The truck was flashed with the 400 HP and 800 ft lbs of torque….OMG the truck accelerates so hard you can feel the organs in your body moving to the rear of the seats. I am not kidding….I drove back to the dealership and ordered one! MPG……who cares!
had a 2008 ford 6.4 and mileage was horrible 12-15 tops only put 7000- miles on it and it sat in garage,to painful to drive, traded it in on a 2011 f350 4 wd extended cab with 3.55 gears and never looked back, only have had it 1 wk and 1100 miles later averaging 21.2 miles city and highway , that s both lie o meter and hand calculated. less that .2 mpg difference,

I'm only averaging 15.0 mpg bouncing around town with mine. Its an extended cab, 6 foot bed. I've only put 400 miles on it so far. Haven't took it on any long drives yet.

I have 8,500 miles....5,000 miles towing....averaging around 19.5 miles.
Tac, don't get discouraged, once you reach around 2,000 miles, you will see a defenite mileage increase.
