Blinking O/D light
Well, I changed the oil for the first time the other night and I'm on the fuel filter and air filter next. Noticed the other night that the O/D started blinking while on interstate. Keep in mind I haven't had it more than 2 weeks. I didn't check the auto tanny fluid yet. Should have but didn't do it. It was about a quart and a half low for some reason. Dropped in 2 more and my blinking O/D light stopped.
Do you guys think I should take it in to be looked at or put on the machine to see if there is a possible transmission problem?
I called the deler and they tell me it's either a sensor or tranny going bad. This truck is almost like new and always went in for scheduled maintenance and hasn't seen a day of hard work in it's life. Hard to believe the tranny is going out. Could that O/D light just indicate low fluid and everything be ok?

You can have the dealer scan for codes on the trans looking for P**** type codes .
My suggestions is to get it serviced if under warranty and get more than one opinion on it before rebuild or replace of tranny.
Unless you trust this dealer !
Just my opinion!

we have a tranny expert here his name is Mark K.
he is are tranny guru, he'll be along shortly to help
If it doesn't flash anymore there is a good chance that the low fluid was the problem. There isn't a code for low fluid, but low fluid can cause a clutch to slip, and that will flash the light and set a code.
Regardless, I'd change the fluid. Has it been in there more than 30K miles? If the transmission did slip the fluid could be damaged.
about when the last time the fluid was changed. It's still under warranty so I plan on having it serviced just to make sure and let them scan for codes as well. Thanks again.
