The last time I checked my TPS I found the best results by stripping the insulation off the wires to make it easier to attach my meter leads. Some have reported good results using pins inserted in the wires. Once attached, turn the ignition key to the ON position. When finished be sure to use good tape to re-insulate the wires.

I recommend slipping the meter probes beside the wires through the rubber seal into the connector instead of taking off or piercing the insulation.

I did slip them in the rubber seal, but i cannot get a reading at idle, if I connect them and turn on the voltmeter, it's like a killswitch, if i turn on the voltmeter and plug them in when they make a pos and neg connnection it's like a killswitch,

I'd just test with the engine off - the readings should be the same.
