In the last month I have done a 4" exhaust, wicked wheel, hpx, frx, and gutted the ebpv in the pedistal, and added a supertuner 1805. Did the exhaust first, then the tuner, no problems. Next was all the other mods. After that I noticed a slight knock or maybe a louder injector sound when putting the thing in drive or reverse. It still ran fine but I could hear and feel it in the floor.
This past weekend I towed a 7,000 lb travel trailer about 250 miles through some hilly terrain. The truck did fine on the flats but got it's butt kicked on the hills. There were much bigger rigs flying by me on the hills, and I was in tow safe mode due to no guages yet. If the truck down shifted into drive, I would put it there and the thing just wouldn't pull any more.
About half way there I blew a boot off and got off the road right away and got it all put back together, no problems.
Got into camp and the motor was extremely loud and had a miss. My brother in law noticed it and suggested the only way to fix it was to buy a dodge like his, not happening.
Before leaving to come home I checked everything out and pushed on some connections including the valve cover harnesses just for good measure, and the truck seemed to be a bit quieter and smoother. Wife even noticed a difference.
Back home and the truck still isn't as quiet as it was before all the mods. I know the frx and the hpx are supposed to quiet things down a bit but I seem to have the opposite happening.
I have tried different tunes including putting it back into stock mode and no difference.
Do you have a boost gauge? Blowing a boot off could be a sign of high boost levels which wouldve caused defueling resulting in your loss of power. You said you removed the ebpv??
ok, i havent been into mine yet so im not 100% sure but i thought it was on a spring? but either way, do you know the sound it makes when its closed? its a loud hissing sound from the exhaust. did you notice this?
hmmmm. This is a toughy for sure, specially since you don't have a pyro gauge or a boost gauge yet.
Blowing a boot of could mean that the boot was loose, not that it's building enough pessure.
Did you notice any smoke from the exhaust when pulling up hill? Does it smoke more than it used to?
I wonder if there is something else loose? Did you make sure you plugged all the sensors back in? Say the temp sensor on the spider?
Sounds like you need to get with Clay and get some of his better boots and plenums.Find those boost leaks like suggested above.
Might think about doing the .50 mod if you found your UVCH loose.
I'm going back to the defueling. With the Superchip and putting a load on the engine, you could be higher then 23# of boost and the MAP will tell the PCM to start defueling. Get gauges and an OBA from Clay.
I had a very similar situation this past weekend, but my truck is all stock except the 6637 filter. I need to find someone with an AE in my area and sheck some things out for sure. I also don't have any gauges yet, but they are planned for. Just need to save the pennies.
It could also be the classic case of clogged fuel pickup screens.
That's when it gets the worst is when you are towing up a hill.
I am going to second what Dan says. Not from my own experience, but from him knowing what he is talking about as well or better than anyone who posts here.

Where in MD. are you? I have an AE but I lent to another user here. I need to get up with him and get it back, then we can hook your truck up and see whats going on. PM me where you are and a cell number and we can work it out maybe next weekend. I am going camping this weekend in Wv. or I would say lets do it this weekend.
Ok I wiil make the in tank mod my next mod to clean up the screens in there and do the harpoon while I'm in there. I now believe that I may have gotten some bad fuel though. I fueled up here in town at a station I've never used before, truck got noisier as the trip went on. Fueled up in Bryce Canyon before we left and the truck quieted down and ran better. I fueled up again at the same station a couple of days ago and the truck seems to be getting louder again.
Does this make any sense? Could bad fuel make that much of a difference in the engine noise on these? Is there an additive I can put in to help if there is some bad fuel?
If there is / was water in their tanks you will hear more noise, definitely check your filter bowl / separator.
With ULSD there is a lot less variance in what Quality of fuel can be produced, but things like Cetane number and Cloud can still be slightly off. These two shouldn’t cause extra noise however.
On the other side of it though, there is no way of knowing the conditions of the underground tanks at most stations. Its best to stick to newer stations when filling up in my opinion.
Hopefully that is all that you are looking at.
I would drop the tank sooner than later and check the condition of the fuel in there while you’re at it.
If this is the case, getting rid of $100 worth of fuel is a dang sight cheaper than new injectors.
