Computer/Transmission Problem
Transmission goes into free loop, no forward gears. Transmission replaced, no codes, no check engine lights. Losing forward gears, back into free loop, code reads rear speed sensor, replaced, same problem. Any ideas? Possible problems, dash board cluster and/or computer. 96' F350 73 turbo diesel, auto E40D, 105,000 miles, no check engine light, snap code box, rear speed sensor bad, replaced same problem. Would a super chip cause this problem?

Well how long ago was the trans replaced and is it under warrantee? A chip might overstress the transmission and cause it to fail but I am not sure if it would cause other problems. Anything you do to the PCM is a potential for lots of problems. Take the chip out and see if it goes away. If you take it to a shop REMOVE THE CHIP.
