Hi guys I've got a issue that I could use some help with.
I've got a 1985 F150 302FI. I'm leaking coolant on the passenger side under the hood.
At firts I didnt think that it was the heater core becuase I'm used to the heater core leaking inside the vehicle when they go bad.
However, a buddy of mine told me that I may have a heater core drain leading to the firewall allowing it to leak under the hood rather than inside the cab? does this sound right?
I know for a fact its coming from the far passenger side near the heater core, but like I said, kind of has me stumped since its leaking under the hood rather than in the cab.
You can always test it by looping the heater core hoses and then seeing if the leak is still there.
Mine never leaked in the cab, I got the "see the air" from the vents alert. So your pal may be right. BTW I have the same truck.
Thanks, I'm going during my lunch break to get the barb fitting to loop my hoses. I'll drive the truck like that for the rest of the day to see if there is any additional leaking.
