Headliner fix?

Is there a good way to tighten up a wavy perforated headliner in a 66? It's all there, clips too, just wavy. Should I dampen it, shape it, and use my hair dryer on it?

I would think that wetting your headliner will make things worse then they already are? I would just replace it with a new one! That way you don't bring out 40 some years of mess out.....jus my .02.........I plan on trying my metal fabbing skillz to make one out of metal

No there is no way to fix a fifty year old piece of crap.

Nothing beats a "new" installs in about ten minutes Rod Doors headliner.

Or you can pay about the same for a new crap piece of press board.

Arctic y block, johnfish79, .....some handy tips from tbm3fan from when he did his headliner. I might try the ammonia to bend the product back in place. Can't hurt to play with 50 year old crap right? If that does not work, I will consider these new products.

Another option is to just add more clips. I've taken out the waves in headliners by spacing the clips 2" or 3" apart. It doesn't make them perfect but it helps.

I pulled mine out too. Perforated fiberboard can't do much for sound deadening, and I'm not going to pay over 100 bucks to get a new 2-pc shipped to me. All you lose is the dome light, but I retro-fitted mine into some holes that were in the rear window flange from a PO's gun rack.

Lol I got my truck with no headliner, carpet or door panels and the seat is all tore up from people sliding out because its lifted. I think im going to put 2 suspension seats in it and depending on the room between them ill either build an aluminum console or a box for a subwoofer lol.

Yep, apperently they are out of Business.

Bummer. I have a complete 61 to 64 kit less the headliner. I was going to order one later this year.

Looks like i will need to make one out of crap.....CRAP!
