I just bought a 07 f250 with v10 it makes good power gets 14 to 15 mpg on the highway and 6-10 mpg on the back roads im looking to get a little more power out of it and maybe a few extra mpg if possible ive been told diablo is the way to go with a programer and ive also heard sct what is better ive already piped it and im lookin for a cold air intake for it. I suppose keeping my foot off the floor board would help my mileage to i guess anything else to do without digging into the motor?
Its doubtfull that youll get better MPGs out of a v-10 with a tuner. The best thing to do is to keep your foot off the gas pedal. And id forget the cold air intake. That wont do anything for you mpg. Ford designed the v-10 to get the best mpgs as it can get. And thats coming from a previous v-10 owner lol
I agree with Fordfanatic4life-for a tuner-call Mike at 5-Star. If you're dead-set on getting a CAI-I've got a complete K&N kit that I'll make you a deal on..... It was on my truck when I purchased it, and is in perfect condition.

Agree with the above Mike @ 5 star tuning (sponsor) give him a call. I've only been running with the 87 perf/tow tune and it does add a little something to the truck.

My turn to agree with you. CAI's are a waste unless you put a blower on it, and then it's a need.

Even then, unless configuration changes enough to convolute the airpath and prevent you from using the OE intake, it's typically far more capable for airflow than anybody is gonna use. I don't care for CAI's personally, but some people like the sound.

True. There's definitely no lack of air in the newer vehicles. People usually buy one because they think they need more air, not realizing the cylinder is only going to take so much unless it's compressed by something.

There's the same problem with things such as throttle bodies. There's always the "measuring something" guys that swear that you have to have a 75mm throttle body for a bolt-on truck, Mustang, etc. just because they make one for it.
