I had bought some Rustoleum for this purpose and recently had to use it for another project. This was a simple rack for shovels pipes etc; I shot it without thinning it, what a lesson. Fortunately it still came out very well, and it is incredibly abrasion resistant.

Reading and seeing the results is inspiration to paint the rest of the Flare-side sitting in my garage. I just finished sanding a few panels last night, and look forward to finishing the rest this weekend.

One question regarding gloss. Rustoleum is oil based as far as I know. Is there a clear coat that goes after the base? Or are you simply getting great results from polishing? I am not going for show quality but want it to look good despite the mud

I am thinking two tone. Dark Green (Hunter Green+Black Mixed %:%?) and black. The paint is sold in the cans with different finishes and unfortunately I can only find the flat green...

See post's #6 and #12. Think I'd visit their website or call.

Thanks for the heads up, I'd read the entire thread and the two posts #6,#12 are what actually confused me:

"Rustolium also offers a clear coat and a metal-flake clear coat."

I've used the Rustoleum clear coat before, but it won't work with the oil based as it is Acrylic. I was wondering if there were some experienced folks that knew of any *additive* to use with the flat Rustoleum products that would increase the brilliance. I may give up and wait on hold for a few hours with Rustoleum customer support...but I thought I would try here first.

I've watched a few videos on this, and apparently once you shoot and sand (one guy shot 7 coats, sanding between each with 2000 grit), all he did was use polish and a rotary polisher and it looked like freaking glass
