2010 vs 2007 F150 6'5 Bed Question

I am getting a new f150 6'5 bed this week. I am wondering if my tonneau cover that is on my 07 6'5 bed will fit the 10. I looked online and they are saying a different model number for the Trifold by Extang. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure it won't, but here's a PDF of the 10's measurements.

It will fit. The one I have on my 2010 is the same one I had on my 2007. The 3 dealers I spoke to when looking to buy told me it wouldnt, most likely so I'd buy another off of them, or so they could keep it and sell it with the 07.

The bedliner is another story...Ive got a new one in my '10. When I finalyl did find a dealer to buy from, them and an aftermarket store I spoke to told me the inner dementions of the box are different.

That is correct, my dad had an 07 F-150 and went to an 09 F-150 and his Tri-fold Extang tonneau fit with no issues on his 09'. When indoubt don't follow everything you hear from a dealership. At the end of the day they are salesmen just trying to make a living.

Cheers!

the main covers that don't carry over/fit on the new trucks are the hard fiberglass covers (and caps/shells) that wrap over the tailgate lip. The tailgate lip is wider on the 09-10's.

Steve:
I get my truck tomorrow and honestly didnt check out the tailgate design that much. I have the Extang Tri Fold will it cover on the tailgate enough so water doesnt roll back in?

I don't know what kind of rear seal the Extang has but you should be fine.

My brother had a Truxedo roll up on his old 06 truck that he then put on his 2010 with no problems.

I have the Bakflip hard folding cover and I know they are all the same from 04-10 for the F150. The Bakflip rear seal covers about half of my tailgate cap/lip and I don't get any leaks.

I just tried putting the cover on and it seems like it is 3/4 of an inch to an inch too short.

Park with the nose uphill slightly and any water that runs over the top of the cover will just run down the inside of the tailgate and thru the bottom opening. Done and done!
