While working under the truck eliminating a leak, i find an apparent leak from something i have no experience working on.
As you look at the tailshaft of the C6, there is a bolt, about 5/8 or maybe 11/16, just to the right of the tailshaft. The bolt is pointing toward the front of the truck. The bolt on my truck is obviously new/been replaced. It looks like SS and is shiny as can be, it also has no washer facing on the underside like every other bolt on the C6. That is apparently where my leak is coming from.
Can i R&R this bolt and not screw up my transmission? Is this factory or i am just wrong? Is there a seal there or do i just need the correct bolt there?
Look, been around most engine, electrical, fuel, body issues etc. But i dont now beans about no transmissions. Might as well be voodoo to me.
Didnt get a pic. Found a pic tho. Thats the bolt i was talking about just above the modulator valve. Couldnt even see the valve because of a brace. Evidently my leaking bolt problem is with the tailshaft retaining bolts. i can take them out and replace them with no problems right? But to solve the leak, i may have to replace the gasket there too. Can i just take the yoke off and R&R the tailshaft?
