Not to be a total smart *** but if you have a competent dealer and shop, then the 03 needs an appointment, because any rpm dependent chirps, squeels, rattles, shimmy or shake are not good.
Hopefully it is as simple as a brake pad draging and squeeling a little and will go away with some age but I still would get it checked out.
None of the joints or bearings in that front end should ever make any noise.

I wouldnt take your comment as being a smart @ss in any way, youre trying to help. This chirp however is not "rpm dependent", it is "wheel revolution dependent", and only occurs when the hub is in the lock position, regardless of the transfer case position. In other words, I could literally push the clutch in, shut the motor down, and the chirp would still exist so long as the wheel is still spinning. If I change the position of the hub from lock to "free" theres no more chirp.
ON EDIT: Fredvon4...now i see what you are saying, when you say "rpm dependent" you are meaning the rpm of the wheel. Got Ya!
