Having Trouble Removing...

I am attempting to replace my rotors and am having trouble removing the caliper mounting bracket bolts. I have broken two ratchets trying to remove them. Are they reverse threaded? Is there something I am missing? I seemingly cannot get them to move at all.

I have a 1997 F150 2WD and am following the Haynes Manuel for the vehicle.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Since I'm not familiar with that year/model, it is a larger bolt we're talking about, say 18mm socket? Caliper anchor mount bolts, I've found, usually have some sort of loctite on them. Try warming them up with propane or torch, with out burning any hoses, sensors, seals, etc. Then try to break them loose. The heat will soften the loctite.

The first time you remove them they are pretty stubborn. You may need a breaker bar or a good ratchet and give it a good whack with a small sledge to break it loose. They are not reverse threaded.
