Maxxis tires?

looked on search ang didnt see anything on subject.
Looking to replace my racecar trailer tires.
16' open , 5500 GVW on trailer.
I was running 7.00-15 "C" 1720lbs@45psi and never had a minutes trouble.

Will be running 500miles round trips next season and need some tires to stand up to 100+ temps on summer days.

Looking at the maxxis st225r-15 for an Ag supply store. 2450lbs@65.

Has anyone run these tires and what were your experiences?

Thanks to all replies...............ron

I run a shop that deals in lots of tires and in my experience I would run the Carlisle Radial Trail 10ply if I we you. The problem is that almost every ST trailer tire is made in China, but a few tire manufactures that are USA based seem to have a higher build quality and when there is a problem with the tire they are more likely to warranty the tire. It seems to me that Carlisle makes a better tire that costs about the same price as the import brands. But if you had 16" wheels I would recommend the Hankook F19 in the 7.50 R16 because they are like a little semi tire and hold up better than any trailer tire I have ever scene.

I you go over on the other RV forums. Maxxis is the most well liked of the ST tires. They are made in Thailand, I put 4 new Maxxis 225 15's on my 5er Load range E and I really like them as it pulls much easier than the older tires. Main thing is to air the tire to spec that is printed on the tire.

I'm running Carlisle Radials on my open 16' trailer and they seem to work great. I've towed my Mustang on them about 600 miles this year.

Thats odd, I have sold hundreds of trailer tires and have had many come back with defects but only one Carlisle, it was a long time ago and I remember it because it was odd, I think it was ran low and had a hard life of very sharp turns. But never the less Carlisle gave a credit on it anyways even when I didnt think it was there fault. Carlisle make a great trailer tire and really backs there product especially if you are talking about the radial trail.

I've had Maxxis tires on my last 5'er with no problems, I haul my 5'er to Florida for part of the winter.
