Anyone know where I can find out what type is neeeded for a tranny fluid ? I did most of the fluids when I got the truck at 92K ( transfer/diff's/ etc... ) but did not do the tranny as of yet ( currently 110K ) ... anyone have a list of what is needed for that - filter, fluid type, modifiers etc...? Thanks !
That procedure could use some updating. MERCON V has replaced MERCON. I now recommoned (as does Ford) MERCON V for this truck.
I also would not use this procedure on a 2005 with a TorqShift transmission. That transmission has a thermostat. If the trans cools below 170°F during the procedure the flow to the coolers will be reduced by 90%. All that old fluid that you want pumped out will be redirected to the pan to mix with the new fluid. Also, a 2005 uses MERCON SP. Do not use MERCON or MERCON V in a 2005!

My 05 with the V10 does not have a TorqShift transmission, it has the 4R100 so MERCON V is the correct fluid? The TorqShift only came with the 6.0... correct?
