Can anyone help me read the sticker on the front axle of my 2001 f250? Just bought the truck and it doesn't have a door sticker to tell me what axle ratio and gawr so I crawled underneath and wrote done the code on the sticker. Sticker says its a 4.30 ratio and says in big bold letters "D-273-D" and also "1 C34-3002-LA".
Can anyone tell what that means? Dana 50 or 60? I took a look at a Dana parts catalog online and the only thing I could find that was close was a Dana Super 70.
The Dana/Spicer Model 50 is an automotive axle manufactured by Dana Corp. and has been used solely in OEM Ford applications. Dana 50's were made as front axles only. The Dana 50 has a "50" cast in to the housing.
Dana 60. It can be readily identified by its straight axle tubes, 10 bolt asymmetrical cover, and a "60" cast in to the housing. Gross axle weight ratings are often lowered by the vehicle manufacturer for safety and tire reasons
