i bought a striped nut extactor and got one lug off know i can get the nut out the extactor lol any tips i quessing i shouldnt have pounded it on with a 6 pound short handle sludge
No pounding needed, just put the lug nut in a vice and clamp it HARD, then turn the extractor tool CLOCKWISE as if you're tightening the nut on the stud with it - those tools only grip on the nut when you turn them counter-clockwise, when you reverse rotation it should let go of the nut rather quick.
Put the lug nut back on the stud then, the tool should let go of it well before the lugnuts tightens on the wheel and stud - then you use regular pliers to pull the lug nut off again. Unless your studs threads are really galled, in which case you should try to find a vice, maybe borrow one from a neighbor? If you have a Harbor Freight store near you they got some vices that are pretty strong while being fairly cheap at the same time...
Okay, so threads on the studs are good then - screw the darn thing back on the stud, when the nut touches the wheel and feels some resistance the extractor tool should let go of it, then you grab a pair of big pliers or channel-locks and unscrew the nut back off - like I said, the tool should let go of the nut well before the nut's anywhere as tight on the stud/wheel as it was initially.
Edit: oh heck, if you got channel-locks just grab the nut with them as is, then turn the extractor clockwise while squeezing the channel-locks closed with all you got. If you position the channel-locks onto the square "teeth" on the perimeter of the nut that should give you good enough grip...
joe thats how it always goes... when workin on anything take the time you think it will take and triple it! thats good you got it off though but sucks bout the chrome
