My fuel filter that is on top of the engine is leaking badly. It appears to be coming from the housing on the lower side of it, not from any of the lines or fittings but from the bottom of where the fuel feeds into the filter housing between the two allen head screws that hold that unit to the housing.
Is there a gasket I can replace or is there a bigger problem here? I was hoping to not to have to replace the whole fuel filter housing.
Is this a new problem? Have you had any fuel leaks there before. Have you done any work except replace the fuel filter? Are you using OEM fuel filters? More info please.
Its a new leak. Just started. I change the filters regularly and I don't recall whether I used Motorcraft or WIX filters the last time. It has only been a month or two since the last change. I see from here I should use MC only from now on.
No work on it around the fuel system....Just started leaking.

I'm sure someone will help you out with the leak. Just so you know there is a great place on line to purchase all your filters. They also carry Racor Brand who make the filters for Motorcraft. They are the same filters as Motorcraft but in a plain box.or can can also purchase the Motorcraft ones from them but more $$ for the name on box. I purchase all my filters from them Fuel;Oil;Air & Trans a few at a time because they have a flat rate shipping of 8.95. Here is the site: Home - Diesel Filters,Additives, brake rotors, and brake pads for Chevy, Dodge and Ford Diesel Trucks
As for the external trans filter I use the NTZ Brand who make them for Motircraft and you also get a new o-ring with it as the Motorcraft one does NOT come with a o-ring.
I think that must be what it is. It is the lowest protrusion that curves out from the housing between and allen head screws that hold that side of things to the housing.
