Something else you can try also. With the engine running, take a small hammer and tap in the IAC. If its stuck, maybe that will free it up. I know when mine went bad on my Mountaineer, there was no code. When it acted up, I would tap on the IAC and the idle would pick up. It would be fine for a week, then it would act up again. Then I replaced it.

Well I found something on another post to try. So I went out and took some pliers and firmly hit the IAC a couple of times near the bolts and the truck started right up. I guess that's a work around until I get it fixed. I guess it's sticking.

In the mean time you could go ahead & clean it w a spray solvent. Be sure to install a new gasket.
The IAC is a solenoid - the spring n stuff get gummed up w carbon & whatnot, as do the throttle plate & throttle body.
