4h,4l works 2h makes noises
Got a little problem here...
80 F150 4speed with 35inch tires (6"suspension,3"body).
My 4x4 works fine, nice and quiet and just recently i took it out of 4wheel high and shifted into 2H. It clunks, bangs and just sounds like something is breaking... all this with the manual hubs locked in. I immediately placed back into 4wheel high and it's quiet.
It has me really confused. I'm going to unlock the hubs and see if it still grinds, bangs, clunks, etc. in 2 wheel drive.
My hunch is ujoint, or messed up manual hubs. They are stock and have about 140000miles. Any thing to try? I want to be able to fix it first try since i cannot get the truck in the garage due to its height.
