hey ya'll i got a 89 f250 5 speed tranny 4x4 with 4:10 gears with the 7.3l non turbo motor. the motor has 112k on it and is turned up half a turn on both fuel screws. other than that it iz bone stock. well not 2 long ago i took off in second like normal but i noticed tat when i let out on the clutch the volt gauge dropped all the way out and then came right back to its place at about 131/2 14 volts. i didnt think much of it at the time but now it moves a lil bit when i brive and randomly jumps...thats not the big prob however...every now and then i push in the clutch and the truck will juss shut off..the volt gauge hits the floor and the truck dies...if im just shifting i kan pop the clutch and jump it bak to life..if im comein to a stop i have to stop and crank it bak over..and sometimes it takes a sec for it to fire again..when i dump the clutch and it re-fires it caughs and chokes (sumtimes it dies a second time) then smoothes out and runs fine for a good while...please help ya'll im lost!!
fire it up, unhook the batteries. im guessing that either your alternator isnt putting out, your VR isnt doin its job or the power cable from the alternator to the battery is burned up and not letting power get to your system. id also check the cable from the battery post to the starter solenoid on the fenderwell. thats the wire that sends power to your complete truck minus the starter.
