I have a 2009 F-150 XL ... it came with these split bench/bucket seats with a fold down console in the middle.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT !

I think its not worth your time, effort, or money to change it.

Ford doesnt sell any with a true bench seat any longer. You could also retro fit something else into your current truck or check and see if GM, Dodge, Toyota, or Nissan have real bench seats.

But I have to ask, what is the gripe about the seat you have now? Its the same one I have in my truck and if you flip up the console its pretty much a bench seat.

the grip is i just dont like the seats. LOL yes the console flips up but its not a true bench seat.... one seat that sits like a sofa all the way accross.... to me... thats a real bench seat.
i dont like bucket seats..... i never have.
i dont even like them in cars LOL

i dont know what else to say. LOL one mans ceiling is another mans floor.

i am planning on keeping this truck for a while so whatever i do to it is going to be for me. the last one i had for 17 years.... so believe me.... i am not thinking about resale value. LOL
i just want what i want.

if ford doesnt sell them anymore..... i'll have to see what else is out there.
thanks for your comments.

What about the side airbags that are part of the existing seats? An aftermarket or older bench seat won't have them, and if they do, will they interface with the airbag system in the F150? If there are no airbags in the seats, will the computer throw an airbag fault code and airbag error light? I wonder what the Grumman guys think about that.
