Lacquer Primer Question
Urethane cures with a hardner, it becomes non-soluable once cured.
Urethane over laquer...no! Though the urethane is hardend the substrate (laquer) is not. The substrate (laquer) will always remain soluable beneath a urethane top-coat. Sanding scratches, filler work, laquer checking (crows feet) WILL make their way all the way to the topcoat. It WILL move beneath the topcoat and eventually move the topcoat.
The only way to properly paint urethane over laquer is not to! If your going to spend the money on a good urethane paint job the laquer substrate(s) should be stripped before ever starting.
On the other hand you CAN spray laquer over properly cured urethane topcoats and primers.
