oil pan blues

oil pan blues

Can anyone tell me changing oil pan is a driveway job or to big thanks.

i reaplaced my engine in my drive way. if it is 2wd you almost have to pull the engine out to change it, so if you can pull the engine then sure you can do it in the drive way.

When you pull the pan it would be a good time to replace the rear main seal.

I'll bet the rear main is leaking now. If it ain't, it will be.

Another thing to consider is blow-by at your rings....I had a "leaky oil pan seal" that, when replaced, caused the top end of the engine to blow out oil....as the piston rings were gone....so if you're changing the pan to "fix a leak" you might want to investigate further first...
