Condensation is the main contaminate to be recconed with when changing oil on timetable rather than millage. In Fla. I would think 6 months is a start point if what few miles it is driven are in 50+ mile increaments at hi-way speed mostly. Short trips at low speed might warrant 4 month intervals. I am basing that on the assumption that the ccv doesn't do much other than put oil in the innercooler. I realy can't see how ccv can work very well without vacuum. Depending on how these opinions are viewed by the majarioty,I may start another thread regarding a modifyed ccv that has been rolling around in my head sometimes while .

The ccv works w/ pressure - the max spec is 0.3 psig. It doesn't take much, but that is why I insist on a 1 inch hose for the ccv re-route. I frequently maesure the crankcase pressure. I am at or below 0.1 psig, but frequently at a vacuum under hard accelerations .... due to the high air flow rate through the turbo inlet duct.

my owners manual states 7,500 mi. under normal conditions. i do run out to 7,500 mi with a uoa every change with no issues. time based oc's are for the most part a waste. my 6.0 is a work truck, hauling up to 4000# daily running 150mi. down the interstate, 300 mile round trips. the only real reason i could see a time based oc prevelant is if the truck is going to be garaged for several months change before

If you are not doing 5,000 miles in 6 months then that is not considered normal and you are likely building up condensation. You do have to remember that the rules cannot list all situations or the owners manual would put Websters to shame.
